Elegant historic apartment in Trieste city centre
In the most elegant and iconic area of Trieste’s historic city centre, between Cavana and the Rive waterfront, just a short walk from the Revoltella Museum and about 5 minutes on foot from Piazza Unità d’Italia, this spacious and elegant apartment is located on the third floor of a prestigious historic building with a LIFT, a rare and valuable feature in period properties.

Bright, quiet and generously sized, the apartment preserves the charm of traditional Italian historic homes, with original parquet floors, high ceilings, carefully selected period furniture and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It is an ideal choice for those who wish to experience Trieste at a relaxed pace, on foot, immersed in its history and timeless elegance, without giving up comfort.

🏡 The space

The living room is bright and comfortable, tastefully furnished and perfect for relaxing after a day spent visiting museums, strolling along the waterfront or enjoying the city’s historic cafés.

The kitchen is separate, large and fully equipped, making it suitable also for longer stays. It is a pleasant and functional space, fitted with a ceiling fan, which helps keep it comfortable during the warmer months.

🛏️ Sleeping area
The master bedroom is spacious, quiet and particularly well suited for a restful night’s sleep. As it does not face directly onto the outside, it is especially peaceful, making it ideal for guests seeking deep rest even in the heart of the city.
The room is well lit and ventilated and is the only room equipped with air conditioning.

There is also a second single bedroom with bunk beds, suitable for a third guest or for children.
Bed linen is provided.

🛁 Bathrooms
The apartment has two bathrooms.
The main bathroom is large and elegant, featuring a double sink and a whirlpool bathtub, perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the city.
The second bathroom is smaller but functional and includes a shower.
Towels and courtesy toiletries are provided.

✨ Comfort
A convenient laundry area with a washer–dryer is available.
The apartment is equipped with Wi-Fi and independent heating and is designed to comfortably accommodate up to 3 guests, for both short and longer stays.

Access to the apartment is particularly easy thanks to the lift in the building, making the third floor easily reachable even with luggage.

📍 Location and surroundings
The location is one of the apartment’s main strengths.
It is situated in central Trieste, just a short walk from the Revoltella Museum, the Rive waterfront and the seafront, and about 5 minutes on foot from Piazza Unità d’Italia.

In the immediate surroundings you will find restaurants, traditional trattorias, historic cafés, bookshops, shops and public transport. It is an ideal solution for guests looking for an apartment in the centre of Trieste and wishing to explore the city comfortably on foot.

🚗 Parking and how to get there
The apartment is located in a central area, not within a restricted traffic zone (ZTL), but close to some pedestrian areas.

At approximately 350 metres there is the Garage San Vito car park, a convenient covered parking facility; advance booking is recommended, especially during busy periods.
Public street parking is also available in the nearby streets, subject to availability.

Guests arriving by train can reach the apartment easily by public transport: bus number 30 departs from the main railway station and stops just a short walk from the building entrance. Taxis are also available and take only a few minutes.
Detailed arrival instructions will be provided before check-in.

Thanks to the presence of the lift, access to the third floor is easy even with luggage.

🏛️ A small note for lovers of historic details
The apartment is located within Casa Basevi, one of the most interesting and early examples of Liberty (Art Nouveau) architecture in Trieste. Built in 1892 and designed by engineer Eugenio Geiringer, the building is protected by the Fine Arts Authority and is often featured in architectural guides for its rich decorative elements, wrought-iron balconies and elegant entrance portal. A small but meaningful glimpse into Trieste’s refined and cosmopolitan past.
